Mrs. Azra Karrar - Chief Executive Officer / Chairwoman
Mrs. Azra Karrar is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, as well as the CEO of Biogenics. She is an active participant and guiding light in Biogenics’ key business proceedings. The Board appointed her as the new CEO after the untimely demise of Mr. Haider Karrar in March 2004 for the continuation of the policies, planning and practices prevalent at the time. Mr. Husain Karrar - Managing Director
Husain Karrar has a Bachelor’s in Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto and an Masters in Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration (IBA). He is the son of Haider Karrar, the late founder of Biogenics. He started working in Biogenics after his completing his B.A., starting off as an Asst. Brand Manager and making his way through different ranks and departments. Currently he occupies the position of Managing Director and looks after the entire affairs of the company. Dr. Nasir Abbasi - Marketing and Sales Manager
Dr. Nasir Abbasi is a medically qualified doctor and a Master in Business Administration (MBA). Biogenics was his first company and he worked under Mr. Haider Karrar during the initial years of Biogenics. Before re-joining Biogenics in 2017, he worked as Head of Business Development for OBS/AGP Group and as a Marketer at Barrett Hodgson Pakistan and Lundbeck. He has a vast experience of the pharmaceutical industry, working in Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Medical and Regulatory Affairs Departments. (nasir.abbasi@biogenics.com.pk)
Mr. Imran Saleem - Manager Finance
Imran Saleem is a Cost and Management Accountant (ACMA) & Fellow Member of Public Finance Accountants (FPFA) with more than 15 years of experience in the pharma industry and 11 years combined experience in Biogenics. He is well qualified and responsible for tasks such as financial analysis, corporate budgeting, general accounts , taxation, costing management and imports processing, investment appraisals, trend analysis, financial modeling, regulatory and compliance, and statutory reporting. Mr. Abbas Raza - Manager Technical Operations
Abbas Raza is a Master’s in Pharmacy from the University of Karachi (KU). He has worked for Biogenics since its early days, for the last 18 years.
As MTO, he is responsible for all activities related to production and availability of products like formulation, procurement, production planning and supply chain. He keeps a strong liaison with all Biogenics toll manufacturing partners for timely supply of products. As a pharmacist, he is also responsible for new product development and has played a key role in development of Biogenics own blockbuster brands like Fibrocol and Calnox.
